Fight wasps

The wasp The wasp is a flying insect species that is often confused with the honey bee. This is because they are both yellow and black in color. While wasps have many similarities to bees, there are some significant differences as well. For example, a wasp does not produce honey. They usually settle in the ground and feed on insects. Wasps are often experienced as a nuisance because they will sting faster than, for example, bees and bumblebees. The insects do this to protect the wasp nest. Unfortunately, this is often in the same environment as people are located. The most common species in the Netherlands are the German and common wasp. These grow to about 2 inches long. A more rare wasp species is the hornet which can grow up to 3.5 centimeters long and can give a very painful sting with a stinger of almost 4 millimeters. the bee Because combating bees is prohibited, it is not possible to eradicate them. you can only keep the bees out. this means that if there is a bee's nest in or around your home or garden, it may only be moved. Killing the bees and removing the nest is definitely not allowed. Call BOBGO for advice and possible solutions. The use of wasps It seems that wasps are good for nothing. Yet they also have their task in nature. They ensure that certain populations of small insects do not become too large. In this way they keep nature in balance. It is therefore important not to just remove every wasp nest. If a nest is not a nuisance, it is important that the nest can remain standing. However, if a nest does cause nuisance, it is of course desirable that the nest is removed. Preventing wasps Of course you cannot always prevent wasps. You can try to attract the animals as little as possible. Make sure the containers are not close to where you want to sit in the garden. Also make sure that there are not all kinds of food scraps outdoors. Therefore, carefully seal garbage bags, waste bins and containers. Wasps nest in the cavity wall Unfortunately, it often happens that wasps make a nest in the cavity wall. It should be clear that not everyone is equally charmed by this. Such a nest is not such a threat in the beginning, but the nest can quickly grow enormously. Keep in mind that you don't just block the hole through which the wasps fly into the cavity wall. The wasps are very smart and it can therefore prevent them from finding another exit and entering your home. After all, they have no problem gnawing through a piece of wood or plaster. Of course you want to prevent that at all costs. Besides in the cavity wall, wasp nests can also be in the ground. These nests can be very dangerous. When someone stands on the ground near the nest with bare feet, the wasps can start attacking the owner of those feet en masse. Control of the wasps If you know where the wasp nest is, you can call Bobgo and have it come by. The wasps can often be exterminated with poison, so that you get rid of the nuisance within a day or at least within a few days.
